Re-Cladding

Thinking of recladding your home? Whether it's leaky or just tired, our team takes the drama out of the process.

Reclad your Tauranga house for better weather proofing and a more modern look.

How much do you like your house? How much could you love your house if it had a complete reclad?

Whether you want to reclad your house to give it a new lease on life, or you need to deal with a leaky home, Alex and the team will help you through the process of recladding from start to finish.

Wondering if your house is leaky?

The first step is for Alex to assess your house for any signs of it being leaky. We start with a visual inspection, and may do some invasive testing if we find any indications that water is getting in behind the cladding. If necessary, we’ll engage a qualified leaky home export to do a deeper inspection, so we all know exactly what you’ll be dealing with.

What happens next?

We’ll meet with you to discuss your project and define a scope for the work that needs to be done. This gives us a chance to work out which cladding is best for your situation. Weatherboard, cedar, brick, plaster, aluminium – these are some of the options to consider, but there are pros and cons with each of them. We’ll discuss each cladding option with you and help you settle on one that suits your house, your timeframes and – as far as possible – your budget.

This may also be a good opportunity for you to consider improvements to your house, such as double-glazing, larger external doors to the garden/deck, or improved insulation – this can be a lot cheaper than coming back to do these upgrades later on.

Once you sign off, we get started with the recladding project itself.

Our Tauranga Recladding Specialists take care of the following:

  • Planning and Consent
  • Scaffold and Wrap
  • Remove old cladding
  • Remediate any issues, e.g. rotten timbers
  • Install new cladding
  • Obtain Code of Compliance

How long does a house reclad take?

In our experience, most recladding projects can be completed in 1-2 months, although every project is different.

Can I live in the house during the reclad?

This is possible in some cases, but we can work a lot faster if the house is vacant – and faster usually means you save money. We’ll discuss this option with you during the planning process.
